Identity Crisis

Fish and chips.

Chips that aren't really chips.

Chips that are fries and yet called chips.

What's the point,

of calling a fry a chip if a fry is a fry and a chip is a chip?

And yet they,

for some unknown reason,

call fries chips.

So if chips are really fries, then are fries really fries?

Or are fries chips?

And if chips are fries,

and fries are chips,

then is anything itself?

Or is everything something else?
