The Source of Life

She sits in class, staring at the clock.
Each second ticks by, a steady, constant rate.
Some seem to crawl by, while yet
others fly.
This is a time that will never return,
will never be re-lived,
will never again exist.
She goes through the motions of life:
school, homework, extra-curricular activities, repeat.
She laughs with her friends, and
she cries with her friends.
She eats too many sweets
and not enough veggies.
This is the life of a high school student.
Yet she feels so empty inside,
something missing from her heart.
She knows not what it is, but she
wonders if there is more to life.
More than sugar, more than school,
even more than friends...

Then she met a love as no other
love she'd felt before. This was
a friend who had died for her,
and then come back to save her.
His name: Abba, Father.
"I love you, Daddy," she cried.
Her many doubts shattered
as she drowned in this love,
only to come back
with more life in her than
she'd ever had before.
No more emptiness for her,
No more unsatisfactory feelings,
No more questioning the meaning of life.
He is life.
He is love.
He is hope.
He is friendship.
He is everything and more.
He is all the good this world as to offer.
He is the way,
He is the truth,
He is the life.
He is the reason I get out of bed in the morning.
He is the reason I smile at the "unpopular" kid at school.
He is the reason I treat my teachers like actual human beings.
He is the reason I hold the door open for elderly people.
He is the reason my heart shines through
the darkness of this world.
He is the reason I live.
